Things I Learnt at 16

So today’s my birthday! I’m 17, which is kind of crazy because I feel a lot older in my head.
It’s really confusing that I’m only just 17 you know, I feel like I’ve gone through so many obstacles for such a young age like probably many people have.

Learn to More Confident

I remember reading somewhere that said one you identify a flaw within yourself that’s all you can see when you look in a mirror, therefore making it seem a lot worse than it probably is! (What a weird mind we have…).
Everytime you point something negative out about yourself, turn it around and think a reason about why that part of you is good and don’t beat yourself up about how you look, act, or for what your personality is.
As corny as it sounds that’s what makes you, you.
I don’t think there’s a part of me that I hate anymore through this type of thinking.

Don’t Be so Naive

I can’t tell you a number of silly mistakes and regrets I’ve had
(like when you have a boyfriend at 13 and think he’s the love of your life). I think my family could write a trilogy worth of books about my embarrassing stories…
I think having a realistic outlook on a situation is the best bet to ensure you don’t make any mistakes and it also helps to prepare you for the worst event (pretty morbid aren’t I)!

Be Grateful

This moment that you’re in now, you may not think it’s that great but in a few years you could look back and think ‘damn, I wish I made the most of that day, or that week, or that year’.
How terrifying to realise that you’ve lived a life that you haven’t taken chances in that you wish you did?

Remember that things always get better and no matter what situation you’re in right now there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope you can take something from this post!
Thankyou for reading.

  1. Hey! Happy birthday for yesterday! I can’t believe you’re only 16! I turned 22 on the 29th 😛 By the way, I nominated you for the Liebster award so the post is on my blog if you want to write about it. It’s fine if you don’t want to though xxx
